Trivial is an AI trivia game. Every question is generated fresh, so you are never replaying the same pack of questions you memorised last week. Play solo, pass one phone around the table, or open a room and race your friends.
Each question runs on a 20-second clock. Answer before it runs out. In multiplayer, answering faster is worth more — the round is scored on speed as well as accuracy, so the first correct answer beats the last one.
Get it right and you will usually see a short fact explaining the answer. That is deliberate: the point is to come away knowing something, not just to be told you were wrong.
Four options, one right answer. The fastest way to play, and the friendliest if you are playing with people who are new to trivia.
No options — you type it. Spelling is forgiven within reason, accents are folded, and a leading "the" is ignored. Close counts; a different answer does not.
Both styles in one game. This is the default, and it is the one most people stay on.
A multiplayer twist: everyone answers, but repeating an answer somebody else already gave does not count. Rewards knowing the obscure one, punishes waiting to see what everybody else said.
Pick a topic, a length and a difficulty, and go. Your scores feed the leaderboards.
Host a room, share the code, and everyone answers the same question at the same time on their own phone. Scores update live between rounds. You can also cast a room to a TV, so the big screen shows the question while everyone answers on their phones.
One phone, several players, taking turns. Good for a table where not everybody wants to install something.
Matched against another player on the same questions. Stricter answer checking than casual play, because a rank should mean something.
Three hints, all drawn from the same wallet of tokens:
Out of tokens? You can watch a short ad to earn one, or subscribe to Trivial Plus. The round clock pauses while an ad or the hint shop is open, so using a hint never costs you the question.
Trivial is free to play. The free tier includes a set of everyday topics and a few generated games a day, with ads. Trivial Plus removes the ads and unlocks every topic, hard mode, hosting, and custom decks you write yourself.
